Howard College Baseball All Americans

All AmericanOn Monday June, 8th the NJCAA announced the All-America Teams for Division I Baseball and three Howard College Hawks were selected. Brandon Wagner and Ryan McCarvel were selected to the first team and Kenny Roder was selected to the second team. Brandon Wagner, a sophomore from Hopewell, New Jersey, the WJCAC Most Valuable Player in 2015, was named to the first team as an infielder after hitting .442 with 22 homeruns and 80 runs batted in. Ryan McCarvel, a sophomore from Moreno Valley, California, was named to the first team as a catcher. McCarvel had a stellar season in which he hit .399 with 18 homeruns and 83 runs batted in. Kenny Roder, a sophomore from Hoboken, New Jersey, was the WJCAC Most Valuable Pitcher in 2015 after going 8-0 with a 2.21 earned run average. Roder recorded 71 strikeouts while only allowing 10 walks on the season and was named to the second team.

Howard College has now produced 23 All-Americans in program history. 18 Of those selections have come during the tenure of current Head Coach Britt Smith which began in 2004.
