ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express announced several front office promotions Thursday morning. Chris Almendarez has been named president of the club after serving as general manager for two seasons. Assistant General Manager Tim Jackson has been promoted to general manager and Jill Cacic has been promoted to vice president, public relations and communications.

"I'm excited to have such a strong team leading the Express in Chris Almendarez and Tim Jackson," said Express CEO Reese Ryan. "They've been huge assets to the success of the organization and I'm proud to have them at the helm for the coming years."

Almendarez joined the Express as a senior account executive in October 2009 following a successful career in the medical sales field. He was promoted to assistant general manager/senior vice president following the 2012 season. He held that position for one year before being promoted to general manager in 2013. In his new position, Almendarez will continue to oversee all business-related aspects of the club while serving as the team's liaison for Pacific Coast League matters. He will also work closely with ownership to expand the Express' footprint in the Central Texas community and maintain the club's highly-respected standing in the baseball industry. Almendarez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Houston where he played baseball.

Jackson joined the Express in March 2010 as the assistant director of communications and baseball operations. He was promoted to community relations manager following that season and director of community relations following the 2012 season. He was named assistant general manager, baseball operations after the 2014 season before being named to his current post. As general manager, Jackson will oversee the day-to-day business and baseball operations of the team. He'll also work closely with Almendarez on the Express' sales efforts. Jackson earned his Masters of Science degree in Sport Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Baylor University where he spent two years as director of baseball operations. He was a member of the Baylor baseball team for two seasons, earning CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District VI as a senior.

From a Pacific Coast League perspective, President Branch Rickey commented, "It's terrific news to hear of these promotions and really no big surprise as the Express have a track record of being ready with stellar individuals in their ranks, primed for advancement. Chris, Tim and Jill are not only very talented, but they are first class people who help make the Round Rock Express the very special club that it is and one to which its fans always feel so connected."

Cacic joined the Express in December 2012 as the director of communications. In her new role, Cacic will continue to oversee the club's communication efforts including digital and social media. She will also work with Jackson to coordinate team travel. Prior to joining the Express, she was the director of media relations for the former Huntsville Stars (AA - Milwaukee Brewers) for three seasons. Cacic got her start in sports as an intern in the Sports Information Department at San Diego State University and at San Diego sports radio station XX 1090 (Mighty 1090), working her way up to digital media, marketing and promotions specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from SDSU.

The Express open the 2016 season on the road, but return to Dell Diamond on Friday, April 15 for an eight-game homestand. For more information on the Express, visit or call (512) 255-2255! Keep up with the Express on Facebook and Twitter!
