Former HC Sports Medicine Student Goes Big

Chris RamirezChris Ramirez, An athletic training student at Midwestern State University Had the opportunity to serve a paid internship with the Washington Redskins this summer.  Chris who has been involved as an athletic training student for many years began his journey at North Shore High School in Houston Texas under the direction of Tim Chavanne and Samantha Hicks. His Next move was to Howard College in Big Spring, Texas, under the direction of John Overton. He then made the move to Midwestern state university to finish up his bachelors degree of Science in athletic training.

Chris applied for the NFL Ethnic/Minority Scholarship, as a way to help fund his educational needs. Instead of receiving the scholarship he was offered a paid internship. Chris said that this experience was well worth it in deciding what I want to do with my career as an athletic trainer. Chris said that this experience was a lot of hard work and it gave him a glimpse into the everyday workings of an NFL athletic trainer.
