Scott Barnum: Baseball – Volunteer Assistant Coach

  Assistant Coach Scott Barnum rejoins Howard College in his first year as a coach. He works primarily with pitchers and catchers.  Coach Barnum comes to Howard College from Abilene Christian University. Barnum was the student assistant coach at ACU in the shortened 2020 season. Patrick Althoff: Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach

Coach Patrick Althoff comes to us from Bloomington, Illinois. Over the past two seasons, he served as Graduate Assistant at Division One Jacksonville University in Florida. Prior to his time at Jacksonville University, Coach Althoff was a four-year student manager at the University of Illinois. During his time at the University of Illinois, he worked under John Groce (Akron HC) and Brad Underwood (Illinois HC). He also helped develop Ayo Dosunmu who was selected 38thin the 2021 NBA Draft during his time at the University of Illinois.

Michael DuBose: Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach

Coach Michael DuBose comes to us from Jacksonville, Florida. Over the past three seasons, he coached Division One at McNeese State in Louisiana. While at McNeese, Coach DuBose helped the Cowboys reach the Southland Conference Tournament in back-to-back years. Coach DuBose is no stranger to Junior College basketball. Meesha Wade: Women’s Basketball – Assistant Coach

She also led the charge of the team’s #1 Academic Ranking in the state of Texas for 2year schools by overseeing study halls, tutoring, grade reports, etc… She is in charge of strength and conditioning and helps Coach Ish in all facets of the program. John Ishee: Women’s Basketball – Head Coach

In his initial season (Covid Shortened) he led the Lady Hawks to a 5-12 season that was highlighted by an overtime win vs. #5 nationally ranked and Region 5 Champions South Plains College.  The Lady Hawks also took #17 Midland To OT before dropping a 70-67 decision. The team advanced to the WAJCAC Tournament Semifinals before ending their season. The Lady Hawks had 2 All-Conference selections, 3 that signed basketball scholarships

Ashley Lopez: Softball – Interim Head Coach

Ashley is no stranger to Howard College as she played centerfield two years under head coach Kelly Raines in 2015 and in 2016. Lopez was part of teams claiming two conference championships, two regional championships and two trips to the NJCAA Division I Softball National Tournament, finishing 4th in the nation in 2015.
