Women’s Basketball Coach, John Ishee’s review of the April 5th game against Clarendon at the Region 5 tournament.

The Lady Hawks of Howard College advance to the Region 5 Semifinals by defeating the # 4 seed Clarendon Lady Dawgs 62-38. Both teams traded blows and poor shooting during the 1st qtr. The Clarendon Dawgs as they liked to be called led 13-11 after 1. The second Quarter and the Remainder of the game would be a different story-however The Lady Hawks clamped down defensively and behind the transition offense off of defense and won the 2nd 19-5. A season high 15 steals led  to Charnay Robinsons , Kiara Green Sumaiyah Abdur- Rahims and  Tatym Barnes offense. The second half would be all HC scoring 32 second half points The Hawks win 62-38 and advance to the Semifinals vs. # 5 Nationally Ranked South Plains College at 2pm in the Rip Griffin Center. Kayla Massop came-up huge with great post Defense and a game high 16 rebounds. Charnay Robinson had a game high 19 points and 7 rebounds. Mikayla Malik had 7 boards as did Anais Bonnemaison. Kiara Green had a steady floor game with 4 assist to only 1 turnovers in 26 minutes.
