Women’s Basketball Coach, John Ishee’s review of the April 1st game against Frank Phillips.

The Howard Lady Hawks completed there regular season , Covid 20-21 regular season last evening hosting the Frank Phillips. College Lady Plainsmen . The game was very similar to the two previous meetings that the Lady Hawks won. The score was 18-15 home team at the end of 1 Quarter and 39-35 at half in favor of the visitors. The game tied mid way thru the 3 rd period 43-43 when the Lady Hawks went on a 5 -0 run and led 48-43, with a chance to take control of the game unfortunately that’s when the proverbial wheels fell off the Lady  Hawk train. Very uncharacteristic defensive breakdowns cost the Lady Hawks in the end. The home team was dominated by the visitors 26-5 in the 4th. Final FPC 69-53. Kayla Massop led the Lady Hawks with a Double Double 17 points and 12 rebounds  Tatym Barns chipped in with 12 points. Kamey  Perez and Aubrey Johnson led the Winners  with a tying game high 23 points each. The Lady Hawks are the # 5 seed in the Region tournament and will play the #4 seed Clarendon on Monday at 2pm at Lubbock Christian University.
