Women’s Basketball Coach, John Ishee’s review of the March 1st game against Western Texas.

In a Western Junior College Athletic Conference battle the Howard Lady Hawks were looking to win at Home for the 1st time this season after coming off the Road last Thursday and winning in heart stopping Fashion at Frank Phillips 66-65. This 1 had a similar look and Feel for 3 quarters with neither team able to shake the other with the largest Lead being 5 points . The contest was knotted at 12 apiece at the end of 1 and Western Texas led  24-21 at Half. The 3rd quarter was much like quarters 1 and 2 with neither team establishing itself. The Lady Hawks who had shot over 40 % from the three and 80 percent shot a Dismal 16 % from 3 4/25 and 47% from the charity stripe. The Westerners pulled away in the Final 3 minutes to take a Hard Fought 57-42 Win. Clarissa Francis led the Winners with 17 points and Shuntori Rodgers Chipped in with 10 points. Kayla Massop led the Lady Hawks with 8 points and 8 Rebounds. The Lady Hawks are back at Saturday at 2pm against#18 ranked Midland. Midland took the 1st contest 80-77 in Overtime.
