Howard College freshman guard Corbyn Cunningham was named a First Team All-Conference Western Junior College Athletic Conference selection after she helped guide the Lady Hawks this season.
Cunningham earned this honor after averaging 13 points and 9 rebounds during the 2017-2018 season. The Albuquerque, New Mexico native started and played in 28 games this season. She averaged 43% from the field and 73% (132-180) from the free-throw line, while having 48 steals on the season. She also lead the WJCAC conference in rebounds per game
Cunningham scored in double figures in 23 games during her freshman campaign including a 23-point performance against Frank Phillips College on February 15, 2018. Shooting 83% (10-12) and 42% (3-7) from the free-throw line, while dishing out 4 assists and grabbing 5 rebounds.
“Coming is as a freshman and receiving the WJCAC All-Conference honor is quite an accomplishment” said head coach Earl Diddle, “she had to play multiple positions for us this season. By being able to play inside and out, made her a bigger threat. She had a great freshman year.”
