Different teams from Hawk Athletics visited BSISD's Marcy Elementary for a full week in late February/early March to help celebrate Read Across America Day on March 2nd. The different teams had the opportunity to sign-up and go at different times to read with the students. The baseball players paired up to go into individual classrooms and read to kindergarten and first graders. Women's basketball, softball, and rodeo also joined them by reading with the students in the library. Hawk athletes stayed to read with the children anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours depending on the day they visited. Smiles were being worn by all, no matter where you looked.
