Hawks Athletics Welcomes Hannah Gartman!
It's not every day someone wakes up with an extreme passion for biomechanics and motor development, but The Howard family sure is glad that the new Head Athletic Trainer, Hannah Gartman has these passions and decided to join The Hawk Team. We are extremely excited to have her on board and our athletes are in great hands with Hannah's wealth of experience, knowledge, and love for athletics and student-athletes.
As an area native, Gartman is no stranger to the demands and stressors of West Texas athletics. Gartman's father has been a football coach in nearby Forsan nearly her entire life and even as a toddler, she was thrust into the world of sports and athletics as she was often at the games, even getting on the field and the sidelines to get as close to the action as she could. With the seed planted early and growing steadily through the years, Hannah became a football manager in junior high and then turned into an athletic trainer in high school. After graduating from Forsan High as the school's salutatorian, she would go on to attend UT Arlington earning her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and then her master's in Athletic Training. Continuing to sharpen her sword, Gartman graduated with a license (LAT) and certification (ATC) in athletic training. Armed with such an impressive repertoire, she would work with numerous teams across nearly every sport, including The Mavericks baseball and men's basketball teams as well as stints in semi-pro hockey with The Lone Star Brahmas and The XFLs Dallas Renegades.
Heading back west with her husband and Maltese dog, Hannah worked as the Head Athletic Trainer for Big Spring Junior High and High School for 2 years before joining The Howard Hawks. With an impressive resume, matched by her love for sports, join us in welcoming Hannah Gartman to the team. Our team and athletes will be in the most capable of hands and will be able to perform at their best with Hannah in their corner.
