Hawks Season Recap
Howard College Baseball 2025 Season Review
Hawks showcase grit and firepower in highly competitive WJCAC slate
The 2025 season was a rollercoaster of resilience, power, and offensive fireworks for the Howard College Hawks, who battled their way to a 27-25 overall record and a solid 21-15 mark in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC)—one of the toughest leagues in the NJCAA.
Howard's offense was nothing short of electric, piling up 435 runs over 52 games and finishing with a team batting average of .331. The Hawks were a constant threat at the plate, recording 18 games with double-digit runs and launching 74 home runs over the course of the season. Their .429 on-base percentage and .561 slugging percentage speak to a lineup that could get on base, do damage, and keep the pressure on opposing pitching staffs.
An eight-game winning streak highlighted the heart of the season, showing what the Hawks were capable of when firing on all cylinders. They went 12-11 at home and a steady 14-12 on the road, holding their own whether in front of their fans or on enemy turf.
In WJCAC play, the offense was even more dialed in, with a .353 batting average, .445 OBP, and .584 slugging percentage. The team notched 52 of its 74 homers in conference play alone and drove in 286 runs, demonstrating their ability to produce against some of the best competition in the country.
On the mound, the Hawks faced challenges, posting an 8.77 ERA and 1.94 WHIP overall. Despite that, they found ways to compete and keep games within reach, leaning on timely hitting and a determined mindset to grind through the season.
As a team, Howard stole 53 bases and kept miscues to a minimum, hitting into just five double plays all year. The group showed hustle, discipline, and an aggressive approach that made them a tough out in every game.
While the season didn't end in a postseason run, the Hawks showed flashes of elite potential and built a foundation to grow from. With a potent offense and the experience of navigating one of the nation's top junior college conferences, Howard College has plenty to be proud of—and plenty to look forward to.
