Howard College Lady Hawks Roll Past Midland College Lady Chaparrals 90–56 in Regular-Season Finale

The Howard College Lady Hawks delivered a dominant performance at home last week, defeating the Midland College Lady Chaparrals 90–56 in front of the home crowd in Big Spring.

Howard set the tone early, building momentum with strong offensive execution and aggressive defense throughout the first half. The Lady Hawks controlled the pace and created separation before halftime, allowing them to maintain command of the game.

The second half saw Howard continue to extend its lead, capitalizing on fast-break opportunities and balanced scoring across the lineup. The Lady Hawks kept pressure on Midland defensively and converted key possessions on the offensive end, securing the decisive 34-point victory.

"I am very proud of how our team finished the regular season. We had lost a few games before last night, but we were able to get back on track before the tournament starts next week. We shot the ball well and played good defense and we will need to continue to do that if we want to win the Regional Tournament next week." said Head Coach Al Davis.

Kailyn Berry led the way for Howard with a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds, recording a double-double to pace the Lady Hawks. Makayla Ellison added 14 points, while Abrianna Lawrence filled the stat sheet with 13 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds. Daja Jefferson also reached double figures with 12 points, and Talia Vea contributed 11 points in the win.

Collectively, the Lady Hawks displayed a balanced offensive attack with five players scoring in double figures while controlling the boards and pushing the tempo throughout the game.

The Lady Hawks will now shift their focus to tournament play as they prepare to face their next opponent in Odessa.
